Wood Job! is a 2014 Japanese comedy film written and directed by Shinobu Yaguchi and based on the novel Kamusari naa naa Nichijō (神去なあなあ日常?) by Shion Miura. The film stars Shota Sometani, Masami Nagasawa, and Hideaki Ito. The main theme song is "Happiest Fool", sung by Maia Hirasawa. The film was released on 10 May 2014, and made its North American premiere at LA Eigafest 2014.

The story revolves around Yuki Hirano (played by Shota Sometani), who, after failing his university entrance examinations and being left by his girlfriend, decides to join a forestry training program on seeing an attractive female face (Nagasawa) on a promotional leaflet. However, he soon discovers that the job is harder than he expected, working under the hard-working superior played by Hideaki Ito.[2]
Yuki Hirano (Shota Sometani) fails his college entrance exam, but he''s not all that worried about it. As a slacker, he figures he can take it easy for a year and maybe re-take the test. His girlfriend Reina though decides to move on without him.

Later, Yuki notices a flyer. There''s a pretty girl (Masami Nagasawa) on the cover with the caption "Come Work With Us." Yuki decides to take up the offer. He''ll have to travel to a small remote town, that doesn''t even have cell phone coverage, and take training classes for 30 days. If all goes well, he''ll work as a trainee forester for one year in a even more remote mountain area. Can Yuki ever hope to survive his new wood job!?!?
